Doris Day played her in 1953 in the movie by the same name. I've always loved movies from the 50s and 60s and this one was one of my favorites. If you watch it you might feel like the character Doris Day plays seems familiar.
Just take a peek at Jessie from Toy Story. And Jane had a daughter, named Jessie.
Anyway! I started out painting this bench in teal and then a creative block set in.
That was until I saw a rust effect medium being used elesewhere.
The faux fur cow print fabric has been in my upholstery arsenal for quite some time to be used on a personally owned wing back chair.
I grew up primarily in Texas and Colorado so the Wild West is in my blood. It's funny where we take inspiration from.
I drip painted metallic paint in silver over the teal. Then I got to work with the rust effect.
Once all the painting was finished it was time to do the upholstery on the bench seat.
The cow print was then trimmed with a leather trim which was further tacked down with chrome tack.
And that's how she was won!
